Fairfax, CA · Marin County · Operator-owned fleet

Fairfax charter bus rental from the company that runs its own shop.

Umbrella Global Bus dispatches from its own South San Francisco yard, about 45 minutes from Broadway on US-101, the Golden Gate Bridge and Sir Francis Drake Boulevard through the Ross Valley. No marketplace, no subcontractor, no 20–40% broker margin. Fairfax is seven miles of two-lane road off the freeway, so the size of the vehicle we send is a real decision, not a sales upsell.

The runs our drivers already know

Distances are road miles from downtown Fairfax at Broadway and Bolinas Road. Times are typical off-peak. Every row is a trip type we stage regularly, not a keyword.

Why it matters who owns the bus

Direct operator vs. national booking marketplace

What Fairfax charters typically cost

Ranges are published so you can budget before you call. Your quote is itemized to the hour and the mile, and it will tell you plainly if the vehicle you asked for cannot make the road you named.

Minibus, 24–35 passengers$150–$175/hr

Driver included. Five-hour minimum, so a half day runs $750–$875. Wedding loops, festival shuttles, trailhead runs.

Motorcoach, 56 passengers$190–$245/hr

Driver included. Quoted per itinerary on top of the hourly rate because deadhead, tolls and return time change the total.

Recurring shuttle programContract rate

Standing routes for Ross Valley schools, camps and employers, invoiced monthly with PO-based billing and net terms.

Always included: driver, fuel, standard insurance, live tracking. Quoted separately: tolls, parking, driver overnight on multi-day trips, gratuity if you choose to add it.

Fairfax FAQ

Answers from the people who dispatch the buses

How much does a charter bus cost in Fairfax?

A half-day (5-hour) 24-35 passenger minibus in Fairfax typically runs $750–$875 including driver. A 56-passenger motorcoach is quoted per itinerary, and Fairfax carries a little more deadhead than the 101 towns because the last seven miles are on Sir Francis Drake rather than the freeway.

Can a full-size bus get through downtown Fairfax?

A coach can pass through on Sir Francis Drake, but Broadway, Bolinas Road and the streets off them are tight and parked on both sides. For anything that has to load or turn in town we send a 24-35 passenger minibus, which is what almost every Fairfax job actually needs.

Do you run groups to the watershed trailheads and Bolinas?

Yes, on a Sprinter or small minibus. Bolinas-Fairfax Road narrows to a single lane with turnouts in stretches, so we cap the vehicle size, drop at the gate and set a firm pickup time rather than leaving a bus parked where it blocks the road.

How long does it take to get from Fairfax to San Francisco?

About 45 minutes off-peak: seven miles down Sir Francis Drake to US-101 in San Rafael, then the freeway and the Golden Gate Bridge. Weekday evenings add fifteen to twenty minutes, and we schedule the return accordingly instead of quoting the best case.

Are you a broker or the actual bus company?

We are the operator. Umbrella Global Bus owns the vehicles, employs the drivers and maintains everything in its own shop, under CPUC TCP 0037963 and USDOT 3126263. Nothing about your trip is resold, and the number you call is the number dispatch answers.

Can you provide a certificate of insurance for a Fairfax venue or school?

Yes, usually the same business day. Town permits, private clubs and Ross Valley schools all ask to be named as certificate holder, and since the vehicles are ours we issue the COI directly instead of waiting on someone else's paperwork.
